Book Collection

I am often asked about my occult book collection. It’s large enough. No, it’s not exclusively full of limited edition hardcovers or too much collection worthy. In fact, a lot of it is relatively standard. I keep everything I purchase, no matter how awful, just so the coven has access if anything. I keep these books in the temple for easy access. So here are some pics of my collection. There are over 100 occult titles here.

For those curious about books I’ve written, well that’s a different stack of books… my occult titles are on the right, my fiction on the left (no novella’s included unless they’ve been printed in a collection).

And there you have it. Hopefully your curiosity is satiated. If you are curious about the three other bookshelves in my office (all full of books), that’s another story for another day.

Until next time – keep reading!

I LOVE how each row has books with little bookmarks in them and how none of the books look like they’re too pristine or have never been read or used. Great collection. Thank you for sharing it!

Chris, Lon Milo DuQuette’s “My Life With the Spirits” (as far as books go). That book probably impacted me more than 99.9% of the modern books on my shelves. Grimoire – meh. Haven’t really been impressed with any of the modern grimoires. In all fairness – it takes A LOT to impress me. I’m very eclectic. Most modern stuff is just a rehashing of all the old stuff. And a lot of the “limited edition” grimoire market is really nothing more than a lot of purple prose, pretty poetry, meditation exercises and extended metaphor that rehashes stuff that’s been said a thousand times before. Give me a straight forward “spell book” any day of the week. It would be more useful, and far more engaging and entertaining. If I want poetry I’ll read Samuel Taylor Coleridge or Shakespeare. If I want long diatribes of rambling philosophy I’ll read the Greek philosophers. I basically wrote the books *I wish* someone else had written about Daemons, but hadn’t. You know what they say, if there’s something you want to read but no one has written it yet – you must write it. ::shrug::

LOL! There were actually a few books missing from the shelves because I was using them in the other room. Hands on Chaos Magic was one of them. I actually do love HOCM! I do recommend it as a staple most magicians should have. 🙂 I also have a bunch of books on Kindle that I don’t have hard copies of (yet). I keep meaning to get them, but my book buying budget has been a bit tight lately. LOL!
