Alchemical Experiments: Update 5.9.11
Tezrian Tincture: The tincture has been happily stewing in the warmth of the seedling greenhouse. I have not yet brought it inside to check on its color. Like usual, I will most likely just leave it alone until September. I have every confidence it will turn out well. Last year I had the issue where the plastic jar cracked open at the top (likely from out-gasing). So I probably ought to be careful to make sure this jar doesn’t explode. I don’t want to lose the entire batch.
Bidding/Controlling Tincture: I’ve currently got a few ounces working there. I got my hands on some fresh Calamus root (whole) from my friend Brid earlier this spring. I dried it and then powdered some of it (the smell is heavenly!), put it into a jar, filled the jar with parts Brandy and Water and it’s now sitting inside a pillar Hexagram charging. I’m going to compare this with the distilled version and the oil version. I am hoping to set up my distillation apparatus soon. Have been too busy babying seedlings and working with the plants.
Flying Ointment: For the record this might still be a possibility for this year. I saw signs of life in the Belladonna this morning. Small seedlings poking through the soil in the seedling greenhouse.
A Few Garden To Do’s:
- Clone the Mint (it’s not flourishing yet) and other plants I may want to keep.
- Start Lemon Balm, Cypress, etc…
- Check on the the onions
- If the heirloom transplants don’t take, pick up a couple of hybrid starts from the nursery + Lavender & Sage
- See if I can save the Daffodil bulbs.
I also need to prune my rose bushes and go through the Maple branches and pull the wand-worthy ones.
