Everything Else

So I have a lot of odds and ends to share. First things first – I didn’t write a single word this weekend. Hey – even writers need mini-vacations.  I don’t know that it was technically a vacation since I spend it doing yard related work. However – it was nice not having to turn on the computer at all over the weekend.

Next – got my jars for the tinctures and salves I’m working on. I decided to go with the 1 ounce jars and there’s a reason for that. I was able to get shrink wrap seals for them. For shipping, I like the idea of shrink wrap seals. All I need to deal with now is buying the right sized Avery labels for the stickers. They just say “Sephira Alchemy” on them and have a space for me to write down what’s in the bottle. Labeling — it’s a good idea.

Speaking of which I think I finally decided I have about 5 ounces of Tezrian Tincture in production at the moment (due September) and it looks like I might have 1 ounce of Compelling/Controlling tincture left over from experiment 5.1.1.  We’ll see. I want to let it fuse and charge for a month, then see how I feel about it. Do some experimenting with it.

On the domestic front, Matt and I started taking out the garden in the way of the new shed. We might have to get some fill or sand to level out the ground. Matt pulled a ton of boulders, leftover concrete, and crap out of the garden.  High winds today could potentially kill all my new transplants. We’ll see. I am suspecting only 3-4 of the 11 plants survived the transplant. I’ll see tonight. I’ll know by mid-week or end of week for sure. I may have to give in and just go buy a few hybrid starts. The good thing is at least a few of the plants took (provided today’s winds don’t kill them).  When it comes to plants – you win some, you lose some. I generally have a green thumb with nightshade (of all varieties) so I was disheartened to learn that I was going to lose a few. Go figure. I should feed them tonight. Maybe they just need nutrients.

Day job has been a bit hectic, but that’s life. Now back to work with me. This data entry won’t do itself and neither will the payroll. ::sigh::
