Day 24: Meditation Challenge #DoMagick
I spent thirty minutes this morning concentrating on finishing up some formatting and enjoying the rest of my day after that.
Then I went and made the traditional xmas eve cinnamon rolls for breakfast and had some coffee. I had a meeting for the podcast at noon, then the coffee maker died. Luckily we keep a spare drip maker in the basement. Then this afternoon my brother-in-law stopped by to pick up gifts for my sister’s family. They’re all sick this weekend with colds and the flu, unfortunately. 🙁 Then I spent the rest of the afternoon working on getting the rest of DPM formatting to go out to the editors! 🙂
Then tonight M and I did our traditional xmas eve wine, dinner, and movie. It was a nice day overall. Tomorrow we’re cooking xmas dinner and having my parents over, so my mediation there will be on having a nice, stress-free day. Ham, yams, green bean casserole, croissants, and raw veggies. Nothing big or fancy. The ham is already cooked, we just have to heat it through. Seriously, the entire dinner will take less than 3 hours prep time. The hardest part is peeling yams and prepping the fresh green beans. The rest is cook time. I bought pre-made desserts. Holidays are about time spent with the people you care about – not stressing out and slaving in a kitchen all day. Just want to point that out, especially since I see so many people (especially women) this time of year agonizing, stressing, and popping Xanax. Being stressed, slaving over a hot stove, and making the holidays a horrific obligation is a choice. That said, let’s see how well I weather xmas dinner. Haha!
