Erotica Samples…

UPDATE: The Erotica Samples are now available.

So I’m going to find a way to effectively put Erotica samples here on my site after learning that Barnes & Noble, instead of creating an adult section for erotica, decided to remove all sample buttons for erotica. No wonder my sales over there dropped off. I was wondering what was up.  I think what I’ll do is create the samples, password protect them, and readers have to type in IAMOVER18 (the password) to read them. The password won’t be a secret.  Not that *that* would deter young readers from opening the files, but if you look around the web, most protection amounts to a link saying “I AM OVER  18” — you click it and you’re in. So really, if that’s all the security required – there you go. IMHO, Barnes & Noble keeps shooting themselves in the foot. First they label all indie presses (including small publishers) “Self-Published”. When they realized how dumb that was and how it seriously curbed sales, they turned around and took it off. I think they’re going to find removing sampling from Erotica  is going to negatively impact their bottom line. I know how many books Anne sells every month and how much money Barnes & Noble makes off of just her. Now multiply that by other erotica authors and what you end up with is a substantial loss in income. Erotica readers may like their books but they’re not buying blind.

Why didn’t they just start an over 18 part of the site? This is disappointing but I like that you have samples of all your fiction here. I noticed only one of the erotica titles is in paperback. Will the rest be?
