Out With the Old, In With The New!
Starting a new project is always a breath of fresh air. It’s especially great when you end one project just before First Rite (to Leviathan) and start another on First Rite. Of course I’ll likely be simultaneously working on DOM359 and Rising Darkness this time around, but only because I’m feeling VERY inspired by both story lines. I might as well enjoy it now because in two months I’ll likely be ripping out my hair and wondering if I’ll get over the mid-hump in the story (stories?). Very rarely does my inspiration push me from beginning to end on a first draft with little difficulty.
Actually, Training Amy was a book like that where I had no middle or ending lag. The first draft was written in a month. I had no problems with the initial writing on that one. It was the revision where I found the lag. Go figure. Perhaps that’s why it made its way onto the bestseller lists by reader word of mouth.
Anyhow, Her Demon Lover will be out sometime within the next 7-14 days and I’m really excited about it. It really is a fun story. I had a love-hate thing going on with this novel. When I wrote it, I loved it. During the first revision pass, I hated it. During the final editing stage, I loved it again. Now I’m pretty sure I love it. All the crazy things that go through a writer’s brain.
I’m also wondering about A Rising Damp. Debating whether or not I want to finish it and submit it for that anthology, or if I should just write it and publish it as a short. It’s kind of a fun story, too. It’s a prelude to Thirteen Covens.
Also – I have some other things in the works that I’m keeping under wraps at the moment. I’ll reveal them when the time is right!
Loving spring! Loving the inspiration it brings! Loving the fact that I’m ending a wonderful project and starting another two. What can I say? Today is really a LOVE LIFE day! 🙂
