Day Five: Lost & Profound #DoMagick

Last night I scarcely managed my cleansing meditation and some mantra work with Leviathan to clear some blocks. While I never made it to the editing portion of the evening, Leviathan had some interesting insights that I’m taking to heart. I’ve been feeling a bit lost lately about the direction I need to head in order to realize my full potential. Feeling lost is never fun because it leaves you looking around wondering what you missed along the way. That’s why I stopped and asked for directions. From this, some relatively profound realizations.

Today I did things the wrong way round, or ass-backward as some folks would say. I did the to-dos of marketing and planning first, and I’m working on editing tonight. I have told myself I will stop doing that because it always ends up being counter-productive in that I get all the busy, admin work done, and the writing/editing sits undone.  I am only ever truly satisfied when I get to do the work I love, and that’s the writing/editing. I have 5 days to finish line edits and formatting on this current book and then I can put Blackrose Coven into editing (my first pass anyway) while working on Illuminated Darkness and Temple of Dagon. Next week will ease up at the day job, I should have this deadline out of my hair, and then I can concentrate on other things.

I have a lot of volunteer work on the back burner.  Finalists have to be announced, newsletter and blog posts need to be made and scheduled. My next co-hosted DDRH episode (with Shaelyn Gray!) has to be recorded next Tuesday, and a deceased friend’s book is being uploaded on the 14th while I have her husband’s attention for the afternoon to help him do it. So many to-dos.  Which is why I’m going to pull my cards and sigil, and then get offline for the day. (hahaha)

Tarot card for the day: Eight of Wands. Inaction by choice. Be careful of getting in your own way. In some decks, this card actually means that things are moving forward quickly, that a stalemate is over. But context is everything and different decks do have different feels. So if the deck I’d used had been the Rider Waite I’d be saying this card meant activity and moving forward, but since I’m using the Medieval Scappini, this card suggests I am getting in my own way. (Nothing new.) Either way – regardless, the eight of wands is a card that indicates that there is no time like the present. You can’t sit around waiting for inspiration or for something to happen without effort on your part. If you want something done – you need to do something!  Basically, this card is telling me to put away the to-do’s and get my ass to work on the editing. It may also be a signal that I need to do a chakra cleansing and balancing tonight, which I’ll be sure to do.

Lenormand: Rider. This is a card of energy and activity. In the area of work or career, it often means that good news is coming! When I saw this card, admittedly I should have pulled others to discover what the news was about, but screw it. I could use a nice surprise this week. Especially in the form of good news. 🙂

Sigil: Babael. A change within my control. This could also be an indicator of positive news on the creative front bring with it big changes. Huh. I’m looking forward to seeing what that might be.

Exciting things going on…
