Magick

Day 3: Too Many Domestics, Not Enough Hours #DoMagick

I wanted to have some awesome post for you all Saturday, but the reality is that Saturday was full of a Saturday drive (to charge our pickup battery), and domestic chores until late night. The only magick that was worked was quality time with my significant other, and our front yard now looks somewhat presentable after a long, windy, and wild winter and spring. Between gutters, weeds, mowing, cleaning window wells, and pruning roses, we had a lot to do.  Next weekend we start on the backyard, which is at least a two weekend project. Last year I was still recovering from surgery, so a lot of things didn’t get done – including the yard being let go.  Which means double clean-up this year. Weeee! On the upside, our locust tree did not die from that early frost, which I’m thankful for.

I pulled a tarot card for Saturday: Ten of Wands : responsibility, burden, obligations, success, stress

Yep – that pretty much sounds like my life at the moment. Too much to do and too much going on, and not enough time in my day. Now you can see why I need this magick. Though admittedly it’s hard to take your writing career to the next level when your life is so full of to-do’s that you’re moving forward at a snail’s pace.  Gods, could you imagine if I had children on top of it? For you writers out there with kids – I feel for you. Deeply.  This happens to me every year though. My spring/early summer schedule is frankly, REALLY busy and super annoying. I need a maid, an errand runner, and a gardener. LOL  Don’t we all – right?

Anyway – Nothing got done on the writing front. And next weekend little will get done. And chances are most of my June and at least half of July will be like this where I won’t get much done on the weekends until the yard and all the house fix-ups (replacing faucet innards, painting, greenhouse repair etc…) are done. Plus – I have writing events, teaching, and readings every weekend from now to mid-July. So expect late posts and nothing of substance on the weekends.  Though at least with writing events I am doing my follow through. So there’s that. 🙂
