Day 24: Word Wrangling #domagick

I waited to do my invocation to Bathin until early this afternoon, after having written almost 3000 words, and found myself flooded with revelations about the book I’m working on. This was a good thing because it provided direction on which book is coming next. I thought it was Order of Eurynome, but it appears it’s actually Ba’al Collective. So there’s that. I am seeing more clearly what The Watch is actually about, and it’s not where I started. This is a good thing.

Another quick once-over on Eagle’s Talon Gray (just to refamiliarize myself with the story) just showed me what a huge mess it is. It’s going to need A LOT of work to get it cleaned up and ready for publication. But I’m not going to worry about the necessary editing right now. Instead, I’m going to just keep writing. I can fix it next month during editing. But I don’t foresee it coming out until May or June at this point. For some reason I didn’t realize just how bad it was. But that’s okay. Once the bones are down, rewriting, revision, and editing is where the magic will happen. Some books are just downright ugly when they’re first born – much like babies. Though admittedly this is the ugliest one I’ve puked out in a long time.

In the meantime, back to Thirteen Covens. I had considered writing this particular installment of the saga as journal/ledger entries, but I’m glad I didn’t. I’ll post my word count at the end of the day.

Tarot Card: Three of Cups — Abundance.  And that is how I feel today. Abundant creativity. Abundant thankfulness. Abundant energy. I have no doubt I will meet my goal.
