Writing Updates

I know a lot of my posts recently have been about relatively mundane things and I haven’t really given a writing update in awhile.  It seems that ever since the first of the year, readings have been taking up a lot of my time as well as processing orders for Infernal Colopatiron. Sadly this affects my writing time, too, since I’ve had to divide my time between the part-time day job, writing and Daemonolatry to-do’s.

Then I fell behind on Into Darkness (which is out BTW for those of you who didn’t know) and that came out a few months late. Now, I am struggling to complete Switched for an early July release.  I sincerely hope I make it. All of this amidst some arthritis in my hands (no fun to write, i.e. type when your hands hurt) and trying to put in a garden and keep on top of the chores and errand running.

So here are the highlights:

Switched is in the home stretch and will be going to my editor in the next few weeks. If I have to do a lot of fixes and rewriting then I’ll let you all know. We’ll see.  I’m going to have to slip in writing at night and during lunch breaks at work in June because until the week of June 25 – I work almost every weekday this month except one day a week. Hard to get all my writing + Daemonolatry to-do’s done in one weekday. Especially with the volume.

Keys of Ocat is well underway and if all goes well, it will be done in the next few months and I should have it to my publisher at the end of the summer.

About a year ago, Andrieh Vitimus asked me to be on Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole and I told him I’d think about it. Well, I forgot about it and then last month he told me again that he’d really like to have me on and I agreed.  I still don’t know the details, so keep your ears open. I’ll announce the time and date here and on all my social networking sites so you won’t miss what promises to be an interesting discussion of Daemonic magick. Update: Right now it’s looking like July 24th so keep your calendar open. I’ll be talking to Jason and Andrieh about The Daemonolater’s Guide to Daemonic Magick and Daemonolatry Goetia.

I am attending my first and probably only book signing of the year (actually it’s more of a local author meet-and-greet)  this weekend.  It is a private event put together by my friend Connie.  I’m actually looking forward to seeing my friend Bernadette Marie (another local author) and meeting some other authors there.

It’s my big 4-0 on June 26. That’s right, I’ll actually be 40-years-old this month.  I may not look it, but there are days when I feel it. Especially with the arthritic hand thing. I’ll probably be going into the doctor in July to have myself tested for RA (my mother has it) just to be sure. If I do have RA I want to catch it and have it treated before it does too much damage. A writer without her hands is a writer who uses Dragon dictation software, and that software pisses me off. 😉

I am attending Camp Nano in August (unofficially) to finish Eagle’s Talon Gray, which is halfway written.
