I could get used to this…

I have had a little taste, in the last few weeks, what it’s like to have a little more time at home to work on my writing.  I really think this is going to work out well for me. I get a lot done and I get to spend a little more time with DH which is always a plus.

Self-motivation has never been an issue for me. What’s always ended up being a pain in my arse is my domestic vs. creative time.  See, I have this bizarre thing where if my house is disorganized, my mind is sure to follow. So sometimes if I’m having a creative block all it really takes is cleaning up my house. How crazy is that?  I am in the midst of cleaning as we speak.

There are still pants to hem on the dining room table. There are coats that I pulled out of the closet that need to go to Goodwill, but first I have to go through the pockets and make sure nothing is left in them. I will likely take them this weekend. I also need to clean off my china cabinet (aka the shit collector). The kitchen island is relatively clean. Of course the area that really needs work again is my office.

Time to prune and sort. This is, in essence, why I took two weeks off later this month. To get my house squared away. Not to mention I’m doing Thanksgiving this year. Cornish game hens are on the menu.

Back on track — I’m loving the whole part-time day job thing. It will get me out of the house just enough to keep me from going stir crazy and will hopefully give me more time to concentrate on writing specifically. I am SO looking forward to it. Hurry up January!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my life and the people in it?   🙂
