It seems I’m just full of surprises (or so I’m told). lol! Sorry – that was too funny. How about I surprise everyone today with some of my favorite music?
Most general acquaintances of mine know that I like metal, some punk, and some classical. But few people know about my love of opera. I’m no expert. All I can really tell you is I love Baroque Laments.
This is one of my new favorites. It’s called lamento della ninfa. The video is funny (or at least I think it is).

I really wish I could find a woman singing Cantada sopra il Passacaglio (my next favorite this week), but it seems YouTube only has male vocalists performing this piece. It’s still very beautiful even though I’m not partial to the variety of instruments in this particular rendering. I first heard it with only strings and I tend to prefer it that way. I don’t mind the piano – but the addition of woodwind, eh. BTW – there is no video on this one. Just listen.
