I have a few guilty pleasures. One is chocolate (nom, nom) and the other, at the moment at least, is watching Big Love. I’m addicted to that show. This is the last season. Thank goodness. Like book series, I can only follow so many television series. I also follow Chuck and Big Bang Theory, and in the summer, I have to admit to loving True Blood. Though in the show, the whole Sookie + Bill thing drives me crazy. Sookie was very liberated in the books (there was none of this loyalty to Bill or true love crap). She did Alcide and she did Eric. Quite frankly I think Eric is far hotter than Bill will ever be. And the HBO Sookie is a bit of a whiny twit. The novel Sookie is far more interesting, less of a cry-baby and not nearly as PMS-y. Just sayin’…
Why is it books are always better than the movies (the only exception is Secret Diary of a Callgirl – show is better than the book)? I felt that way with the Harry Potter books and movies starting at Goblet of Fire. I also wasn’t a huge fan of The Club Dumas. The Ninth Gate was far better. Of course before I got married at most I watched BritComs on PBS. I didn’t watch TV otherwise. My husband turned me into a TV junkie.
Alright, enough of this Monday meandering from me. What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to TV?
