You should know up front that I am prone to reading more than one book at a time. Not necessarily a good habit. LOL!
Doom with a View (Psychic Eye Mysteries, Book 7) by Victoria Laurie (Paranormal Mystery)
Admittedly I burnt myself out with this series by reading them all in order. So I am kind of alternating reading this one with another book. I’m not so bored I’m giving up. I’m just taking my sweet time.
The book that sucked my attention away from Doom with a View is Destined by Gail Cleare. To be honest the beginning of this book kind of reminds me of that movie Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. It’s a similar, yet different, plot line. I suspect not nearly as whimsical. Basically this woman quits her job and takes over as the manager of a book and antique shop. The owner is a wise occultist/magician. The book follows the path of the tarot. I’m not that far in. So far the main character has taken the job and taken over the shop, getting it ready to open. That’s as far as I’ve gotten. I know that sounds boring, but really it isn’t. Reviews forthcoming as always. I’m not even really sure which genre this is. Magic Realism maybe? Slightly paranormal? Romantic overtones.
Waiting in the wings to be read (or in some cases re-read) –
The Beans of Egypt, Maine by Carolyn Chute (this is a re-read) – contemporary literature
Blood of the Dark Moon by Adrianne Brennan (paranormal romance/vampire fiction)
ENCORE PERFORMANCE (THE MATCHMAKER TRILOGY) by Bernadette Marie (romance)
A Glimpse of Evil (Psychic Eye Mysteries, No. 8) by Victoria Laurie (paranormal mystery)
Night Child (OSI, Book 1) Jes Battis (OSI Book 1) (urban fantasy)
A Flash of Hex (OSI) Jes Battis (urban fantasy)
Blue Diablo: A Corine Solomon Novel by Ann Aguirre (urban fantasy)
I told you I read everything. LOL! Of course this list subject to change at whim.
