Called To A Creative Life – Manifesting Your Will
One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the couch with my mom as she read me a book. I was only four, but the memory is so vivid that I’m pretty sure that was the exact moment I fell in love with reading. By the time I was eight, when my nose wasn’t in a book, I was…

Mid-Year Progress and End of Year Goals
It’s that time of year again for me to give readers an update on where everything is in the Quadrant-verse. Yes, it’s another state-of-the-muse address. This time, the state of the muse is good. Yes, I’m a little behind my scheduled timeline (what’s new?). I will likely need to petition my publisher for a few extra weeks to an extra month on…

F*ing Unicorns
Everyone’s always asking what is up with the unicorns. There’s an anecdote behind all the unicorn goodness that goes on over on my FB page, and even in my fiction. It goes a little something like this: Years ago I was actively submitting short fiction to professional science fiction and fantasy magazines. For the most part, I had finally graduated past generic form…

Controversial Topics in Fiction
There’s that old adage out there that states, “Never discuss religion or politics if you want to be liked.” Well – the truth is I don’t write just to be liked. I began writing for me, and when I discovered other people liked what I was doing – I began writing for them. I know that sounds self-serving, but it…

Fun Holiday/Winter Reads
Some of my work (and that of a friend) to keep you warm this Holiday season. First, there’s The Day Hell Froze Over. A delightful holiday tale wherein Satan finds himself up the river Styx without a paddle when, for the first time in history, Hell Freezes Over! This is a humorous Christmas story sure to delight readers young and old alike.…

No Novel Madness November
2007 was the last year I officially participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I succeeded in pushing out a 60K novel that year. The novel was Warrior’s Blood Red, the second book in the Sorcerers’ Twilight trilogy. Every year since then I’ve kind of done an unofficial NaNo where I work on projects in progress and cheer on friends. Long…

I could get used to this…
I have had a little taste, in the last few weeks, what it’s like to have a little more time at home to work on my writing. I really think this is going to work out well for me. I get a lot done and I get to spend a little more time with DH which is always a plus. Self-motivation…

More Publication Schedule Changes
It appears as though Into Darkness is now slated for an October release. With small press the publishing schedule can be a fickle thing. Thirteen Covens has been shoved back to 2012 (no definitive month or season even). This is probably a good thing considering I don’t want to feel rushed. My editor and I have even talked about October 2012…
