Magick,  the writing life

Summoning 16: Low Key #DoMagick

Today’s ritual was very quiet and soothing. Not as invigorating as it has been and I wonder if it’s because I kind of knew that today was a going to be slow in the writing department. I had a fabulous lunch with a friend, got my Friday writing group posts scheduled, updated the blog, did my videos, and did some marketing and planning with friends. Now it’s time to go get some writing done. I do feel very energetic today even though no real writing has happened yet. More focused, too, which is nice.

Today’s Cards:

Queen of Wands: Being busy/active and up for a challenge. Having my life in control. That’s me today! LOL My challenge is whether or not I’ll write. Let’s see if I’m up for it!

Heart: I love what I do and have a passion for my career. I really do love what I do. The past six months or so I’ve been examining my life and really evaluating what I love and what is serving me, and what isn’t. I was feeling burnt out and was worrying that maybe my writing slow-down was due to burn out. That is not a good thing for a writer. Juggling the sheer number of pen names and projects I constantly have going can be exhausting and I tend to “rebel” against that. This month I’ve had the revelation that I really do love my career, there are just certain parts of it I need to look at with a new perspective.  Thanks to my friends Andrieh and Shae for the fresh eyes and giving me some insight there. It really helped. I’m going to take until September to think on this and reconfigure my plans.

Now I’m off to do some writing, then tonight meditation as well as my regular Healing Light/Strength ritual that I do for others. Have a fantastic night, and I’ll catch you all tomorrow!

Oh – and don’t miss Authors Unwritten (the new vlog I’m part of) which goes live August 20th!  Like and Follow if you’ve been loving the live videos and need a weekly dose of fun.
