Summoning 1 – The Muse is Back! #DoMagick

I woke up earlier today just to make sure I had time to perform the ritual as written with a few additions. I do better when I memorize what I’m going to say without having to read from a script. Hence the reason I keep orations short and sweet. I probably could have done more stretching this morning. I’ll do a longer sequence tomorrow. The ritual went flawlessly, then I hauled my ass to the office for a long day of cleaning up the piles on my desk and finishing some reports.

I came home, did my live video, wrote about 250 words on ID, and then decided to write this brief entry for the first day of this DoMagick challenge. The day job, working with numbers all day, is mind-numbing. So I’m lucky I got a few things done. Now I’m off to meditate before heading to bed to read for a while. Yes, sleeping is on the agenda, too, but reading helps me relax.

Quickly – let’s pull some cards for tomorrow, shall we?

Death: Endings, new beginnings, changes.  I have actually been pulling change cards a lot lately. Probably because I feel myself being pulled in new directions. I am just not sure, exactly, what that direction is. I mean, I have some thoughts on the matter. There are currently a few things in my life that I need to eliminate to improve my productivity and I’ve felt the shift. It’s coming. Should be interesting to see where I’ll be next year at this time.

Lily: Career-wise (since that’s what we’re talking about here) this card represents being established. This works for both the day job and the writing gig. I’m established in both places. This could also suggest retirement, but I assure you that I have no intention of retiring from writing. It could instead suggest a rest. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and it might be time for me to take a break, retreat for awhile, and get my mental and physical self in order so I can come back stronger and refreshed. It’s been some time since I’ve had a real vacation and I think that may be something I need to plan for 2019. A real vacation. That said – today I had an epiphany and I’m already more relaxed about the rest of 2018.

In other life news – it’s that time of year for all of my annual health appointments. I feel like everything is on the level and aside from those persistent allergies and sinus issues I’ve had since age fourteen, I really do feel pretty damn good!  Right now I’m just concerned about normal aging things. Arthritis, bone density, blood pressure, and cholesterol. The latter two were high last year. But I’ve lost ten pounds in the past 4-5 months (yay!)  So far I’ve done the mammogram, but I have a pelvic, regular doctor visit,  and a dental appointment to get through this month. Plus I still need to get my vision exam done. I feel like I might be due for a new lens prescription. It’s true what they say – aging isn’t for sissies. LOL  Folks — don’t skip out on your yearly exams if you can help it. Especially if you’re over forty.  That’s when all that hard living you did in your teens, 20’s and 30’s starts to catch up with you. HA! 🙂  On that note, I’m off! Have a great night!
