On the *To Be Read* Pile
Like many of you, I have an ever growing list of books I want to read. It’s so bad, in fact, that not only do I have a bunch of books on my Kindle, but I have a list of books I want to read that I keep on my phone.
The death of Maeve Binchy, for example, spurred me to finally buy a copy of Evening Class. It’s a book of hers I’ve been meaning to read for a few years now but never got around to it.
Earlier this spring I toyed with the ideas of tapping our maple tree out front, and the possibility of keeping bees in the backyard. This resulted in my purchase of two books, Backyard Sugarin’ by Rink Mann, and The Bee Book for Beginners by Frank Randall.
I’m somewhat paranoid about having my freedom to write erotica and practice an other-than-Christian religion taken away, so a friend suggested I look up Dominionism and Quiverfull. I’ve read a few books on the subject since then (terrifying books), but still have The Bad People Stole My God by Doug Philips waiting in the wings.
With each passing year I’ve discovered I really love gardening. So this year’s garden book is Botany for Beginners by Brian Capon. But I have to finish reading the greenhouse gardening book I’m reading now before I start that one.
A conversation with a friend about the making of the philosophers stone caused me to buy a copy of Robert Cox’s The Elixir of Immortality: A Modern-Day Alchemist’s Discovery of the Philosopher’s Stone, since I’m hoping it describes the work of a modern magician and the insights therein. I just haven’t had a chance to read it yet.
And finally, I have a copy of Victoria Laurie’s Ghoul Interrupted sitting on my Kindle waiting to be read, too.
On my phone list there’s Charles Murray’s Coming Apart and Bernadette Marie’s Opposite Attraction among others.
So many books, so little time! ::sigh::
