New Covers

Loving some of the new cover art coming through on some of the new books. Yeah, over on the Upcoming Releases page you’ll see my “place holder” covers. Some of them are not the covers that will actually be on the actual book(s).  Cover art is one of those things that the smaller houses tend to play with until the last minute anyway, or until the author loves one of them so much that it’s just not changing. There are a few of my upcoming covers I’m already in love with. Thirteen Covens has a great cover! Happy to say my husband and I designed that one ourselves. He took the picture, I made it pretty blue and stuck it on a cover. I also love the Into Darkness painted cover. I know not all readers are going to like it, but oh well. There’s a different eBook cover.  The cover for Switched is great, too. I’m also keen on The Witch’s Garden and My Name is Legion. But the rest, admittedly, are in a state of flux. It’s not always easy to find a good cover designer or the perfect image for a cover. I don’t do all my own covers. I have a couple of cover artists I’ve worked with over the years.

I get a lot of input on my covers though. For example – I refuse to have half nude men or women on my erotic romance covers. I find that boring and it’s just not me, or my books for that matter. I like to think I’m a bit edgier than that. Though we kind of broke that rule with switched.   There are a set of very sexy legs on that cover and I don’t regret saying yes to it. I just got some new cover art on Rising Darkness, the Dukante book, TIC, and Grimorium Daemonolatrie. Rising Darkness is getting closer and we may have found winners for the other three. I’ve also been shown new designs for the second revised, expanded edition of TCBD. I think we’re on the right track there, but nothing definite.  I always love cover art. It’s so much fun. 🙂
