A Malkuth of Me,  Updates

Mini-Vacation & Updates

Took a little mini-vacation from the blog yesterday. This first week of August has been a busy one anyway.  Between billing and payroll down at the office coupled with lots of writing that needs to happen, I’m having oral surgery at the end of the week. Nothing major, but it’s something I’ve been putting off for awhile and it will still put me down for about 48 hours. So don’t expect posts from me Friday-Sunday of this week.

In other news it is true that one of the employees of the family business was killed over the weekend (hit by a car while out on the job). So things have been hectic there. A lot of stuff to deal with. Personal friends can contact me privately for information about what happened or where donations to the family can be made. Otherwise, this is all I will say about it on the internet as it’s not my place to really speak publicly. Not to mention I try not to let my internet and writing life collide with my day-job/family/personal life at that level. Suffice to say it was a terrible tragedy and we’re all  (both family and co-workers) deeply saddened by the loss.

In personal domestic news I put myself through a gruelling five + mile bike ride (it may have been more like eight miles) Sunday in 99F heat. It was a stupid idea. I ended up with a sunburn and slightly dehydrated myself. Oh, and got a flat. But I will say this – it was good exercise and I had a blast (until I got to the last two miles).  I really do like riding the new bike. I would do it again in a heartbeat (with a couple of changes like ice in the water, sunscreen, and fix-a-flat). Maybe a route with more shade next time, or I’d at least wait until the temperature was less than ninety.

Now I’m off. If my posting is sporadic this week, the aforementioned craziness would be why. But you never know. I might find something interesting to blog about. Thanks for reading!
